Staff FAQ

We know that you’ll have lots of questions about your summer home! Once staff are hired they join an exclusive online community to meet other staff members and recieve montly newletters helping them adjust to what camp life will be like.

Where will I live?

Accommodations vary based upon position held. Counselors stay in yurts with their specific camp groups. Experts and Senior Experts also stay in yurts, in a separate staff village complete with its own bathhouse. Camp directors stay on-site and live in single room cabins with shared bathrooms.


What is the food like?

All meals are freshly prepared by a professional kitchen staff. Three quality nutritious meals a day and a snack are served in the dining hall. Vegetarian options are part of the daily menu.


When do staff have time off?

Time off varies on based on position, but in general most staff receives at least an hour during the day and another hour in the afternoon/ evening. Additionally, staff are given time off from Friday afternoon until Saturday morning, and then from Saturday at noon until Sunday at noon (between sessions) each week.


Who works at Camp Morty?

Our staff is made up of mature and dedicated students and young professionals. Most of our staff members are in university or are recent graduates, and our average staff age is just over 21. Our staff comes from across the US and the world! In the past years, we’ve recruited international staff through Camp America from countries across Europe and we’ve even had staff members from as far away as Australia!


How and when do I get paid?

All staff are paid for days worked in accordance with their contract. Staff are paid every two weeks on the county pay schedule by direct deposit.
