Camp Administrative Positions
Associate Camp Director
The inaugural Associate Camp Director will be the camps first full time, year round camp administrator to be based in Westchester, NY. The Associate Director will work with the existing Camp Director and Assistant Directors and alongside the staff at Westchester Parks Foundation to lead the camp program and community and build year round programming for campers. Camp Morty seeks a compassionate and hard-working health professional who loves camp and working with children. Responsibilities include caring for ill or injured campers and staff members, responding to health calls and any emergency that may arise at camp, sorting and dispensing medication to campers, maintaining camper and staff health logs and encouraging and promoting health maintenance and accident prevention. Qualifications include being licensed in New York State as a registered nurse, current CPR and first aid certifications, and experience with children and young adults. The ideal candidate will have the ability to assist in originating, updating, and/or monitoring health care; maintain records and implementing the health care plan; and have the desire to live and work in a camp community. Camp Programming Positions
Program Experts (6)
Our Program Experts are the camp’s teachers, skilled in at least two of the below areas:
Program Experts create and execute engaging and appropriate lesson plans pertaining to the session they are teaching. Program Experts are creative, energetic, strong team players, and excellent communicators. On a typical day Experts can see up to 5 different groups of campers. Groups are separated by gender and age, ex. 8 yr old girls, 9 yr old girls, 8 yr old boys, 9 yr old boys, etc. Program Experts also plan evening activities and special programs as assigned, and act as back-up for counselors if needed. Program Experts report to the camp’s Division Director for Programming and one of the camp’s Assistant Director.
Camp Waterfront Positions
Waterfront Expert (2)
Waterfront Experts are experienced lifeguards who also have experience teaching swimming lessons and/or teaching canoeing and kayaking. The ideal candidate is enthusiastic about teaching children and works well as a member of a team. Candidates must hold up-to-date Lifeguard, CPR and First Aid certifications. Waterfront Experts are supervised by the Senior Waterfront Expert.
Camp Counselor Positions
Boys Yurt Counselor (5)
Your specialty is the campers in your yurt. You sleep in the same quarters as the campers and participate with them in a variety of daily activities in which you are the catalyst, leader, helper, guide, listener and above all, role model. Experience: working with children – the more the better.
Girls Yurt Counselor (5)
Your specialty is the campers in your yurt. You sleep in the same quarters as the campers, and participate with them in a variety of daily activities in which you are the catalyst, leader, helper, guide, listener and above all, role model. Experience: working with children – the more the better!
