Merriwood Teen Empowerment Program
The Merriwood Teen Empowerment Program is returning for its 2nd year at Camp Morty!
Merriwood is specifically designed to meet the needs of teens as they age into adulthood, providing them with social-emotional skills as well as career inspiration and life skills.
The Merriwood Teen Program is a 2-week residential camp program for campers 13-15 years old. Merriwood campers participate in a robust skills-based program featuring:
Teen Empowerment
Community Service
Professional Development
Life skills
Who can apply for Merriwood?
Campers 13-15 are encouraged to apply to the Merriwood program. Merriwood has the same eligibility requirements as the rest of Camp Morty.
How is Merriwood different from the rest of Camp Morty?
Merriwood exists to pair the typical summer camp experience with real-life skills to support them outside of camp. Merriwood campers will participate in a variety of workshops centered around teen empowerment, current affairs, community service, life skills and career development.
What will my camper participate in through Merriwood?
All Merriwood campers will participate in workshops and classes hosted by professionals that focus on teen empowerment, business, financial literacy, and current events. Campers will develop their own business plan over the course of their session, which they will then pitch to a panel of mock investors at the end of their session.
They will also choose a community service project to complete as a group over the course of their session. Projects will support one of the following:
